Good News About Penny Randall

We’re happy to report to you that Penny Randall continues to make an excellent recovery following last week’s heart attack. The doctors say she should be able to go home this week. Al asked me to tell you how much the industry’s support and prayers have made to him during this challenging time!

The industry joins together in prayerful support of Al and Penny Randall. We understand that Penny has suffered an apparent heart attack and is hospitalized. We hope to get more information soon as doctors do some evaluations this afternoon. We all are keeping Al and Penny and their sons in our thoughts and prayers.

Cheap Thrill

I always get a cheap thrill when the first of the membershp renewals come in each year.

Part of it is that we'll be able to pay the light bill.

The other is that some members turn-around the renewal the day they get the invoice. It might be that the invoice comes in the day they pay bills. But I like to think these are the enthusiastic members who think, "Sure, I want to renew. No doubt about it!" It's sort the same sort of affirmation Sally Fields felt when she won an Academy Award and shouted: "You really do like me!"

Matt Yow was the first person to renew this year. Also in the first batch were Paul Laurent, Derek Blackwell, Rick Sanders, John Johnson, Caroline Sparks, Mitch Gibbons, John Wilkerson, Sid Moore, David Huckabee, Mitch Gault, Scott and Jennifer Oliver, Vernon Deloach, Bill Hopper, Charles Norkett, and Ed Rice.

New SAFE Act Guidelines Make Life Easier for Retailers

MHISC has solicited and received guidelines on what retailers can and cannot do under the federal SAFE Act. The new guidelines will make it easier for MH retailers to communicate with their customers and help them through the buying process.

My choice for MHISC Member of the Week is Shirley Shamblin with Jensen's Southern Palms in Ladson.
Shirley sent back a nice thank you note when we distributed the updated membership diretory electronically last week.
Keeping up the directory is quite an undertaking. We update the on-line directory literally every week. That's something we couldn't do with the old "hard copy" directory.
Collecting the data and keeping the directory up-to-date is a time-consuming process. But it gives member access 24 - 7 to the latest information about members and companies in the industry. People are starting to see the directory as a valuable member benefit
